Blogger redirect to another URL addres

By on July 7, 2014

In this tutorial I am going to show you how to redirect your Blogger blog or specific pages to another URL, website address, etc.
The redirection can be useful in many cases, the most common one being when you try to add traffic to a new domain (which can be on a new blogging platform).
For example, when you start a new blog on a self-hosted address, you will not get too much traffic in the beginning, so you will redirect your old blog (which is supposed to have decent traffic flow from organic search results and backlinks) in order to drive traffic from the old one to the new one. It also passes all the ranking factors, which is a good thing.

I’ll walk you step by step.
Note: In order NOT to break anything, please back-up your template first.
1. First of all, login in to your Blogger dashboard
2. Go to the template and click “Edit HTML” (see the below image)
blogger_dashboard_edit_template
3. Click on the box with the code and search (CTRL+f a search box will appear) for the tag <head>

blogger_dashboard_template_code

4. Now add the following script (Copy & Paste) right below the <head> tag as shown in the illustrative image:

blogger_dashboard_redirect_script

5. Now you need to change the http://bloggerwizard.com link to your desired URL and save your template.
After doing all the steps your entire blog will be redirected to your new address.

Now, I am going to show you how to automatically redirect your blog to another blog or URL address after a specific amount of time. This can be useful for promotional purposes.
To do so, follow the above steps and use the following code:

blogger_dashboard_timer_redirect_script

Now, you have to change the http://bloggerwizard.com with your desired URL and the amount of time. It is set on 5 seconds by default.
Save your template and you are done!

You can also use those scripts on specific blogger pages/posts, by inserting them in your article in HTML mode only NOT Compose.

It should look something like this:
Simple redirect script
blogger_in_post_redirect_script

Redirect script with timer
blogger_in_post_timer_redirect_script
