How to buy some time to write?

“Yesterday is gone. Tomorrow has not yet come. We have only today. Let us begin.”

– Mother Teresa –

Time is a common problem for many bloggers because besides our blogs we also have jobs, families, kids and all kinds of responsibilities which come with the age.
Your blog can survive only if you are active/write on it. But you don’t want only to survive, you want to grow. So, the key to growth is consistency and getting social – things that take time.
I’ll try to give you some advice from my experience regarding buying some time for blogging.

1. Write in the morning.

computer_coffeeDon’t be lazy and try not to spend another half hour in bed.
While having your coffee, instead of watching TV, reading the newspaper, browsing Facebook or even while you are on the toilet, you can research and start writing/sketching an article.
The morning for me is the best time for good ideas.
Being rested and with a boos of coffee you can come up with great solutions and ideas.
If you are a morning person you need to take advantage of that.

2. Use the dead time of the day

Almost every day has some time in which you are not productive (like waiting at the doctor’s, sitting on the bus or simply when you don’t have any work to do, or you are on your lunch break). You can value that time and start writing at least some ideas in order to continue later. You don’t have to write it from the start, just gather information and make a sketch of your article.

3. Replace TV, video games, and stop wasting time on the internet.

gaming_tvWe waste a lot of time every day on activities like TV, video games and spending time on the internet doing nothing.
If you are a gaming blogger you have to play but don’t overdo it. Reserve time to post your material.
Spending time on the internet can be very productive or simply a waste of time. For example, Facebook is a double edged tool. It can help you a lot with your blog but it can also distract you very easily from your work.

4. Write in the evening.

evening_writeI personally enjoy a lot writing in this period of the day.
When the family sleeps and it is quiet in the house you can put together all the ideas/sketches collected and written during the day.
Now you can relax, forget all about the job problems, pour a glass of wine and blog like a pro.
By doing this, you will also have a feeling of accomplishment for that day.

5. Blogging has to be something you enjoy.

It is very important that blogging doesn’t feel like a burden. If it does, you should quit or try something else because you are not going to make it!

If you use some of these tips, you will see that you can write an article at least every 2 days.
Have in mind that time is the most valuable resource that we have. It is so valuable because it is limited, so use it wisely!
