How to start a blog using Blogspot
Ok, so you are totally new to this blogging thing and you want to try it out, but you don’t want any strings attached or any costs involved. So maybe you heard about Blogspot.
Blogspot / Blogger is a free blogging platform provided by Google on which you can create up to 100 blogs per account and it is 100% FREE! No joke! 🙂
So, how to start a blog using Blogspot? Simple!
1. 1st of all you need to have a Google account.
Having a Google account is great because you have access with it to all Google products, like Blogger, Google Plus, Youtube, Google drive etc.
OK…. So, go to Blogger.com and click on “create an account”
Then you fill in all the required fields and follow the steps.
Yay! You are the owner of a Google account.
2. Log into Blogger.
Now you are able to login to Blogger.com. You will land on a page where your future list of blogs will be. But, for the time being, you have no blog created. So, in order to create one, click the “New Blog” button.
3. Pick the title, the address and the template for your new blog.
All these (title, template, even address) can be changed later if you want to.
Ok, so now you will see that your newly created blog will appear in your blog list. So, this is how you create your first blog using Blogspot.
4. Pick and customize your template
In order to pick another template and/or customize the existing one, go to your Dashboard -> Template -> pick your template -> then click on Customize.
It will take you into a panel where you can play with your template all day long.
5. Get familiar and start organizing your Layout (Gadgets)
6. Start writing!
So you have the blog, you’ve customized your template and played with your gadgets (you can also redo that anytime you want). The most important thing now is to start writing. Click the “New Post” button from your dashboard and become a blogger.
